Broken pipe, broken wall

I always find it humorous when you have to break one thing to fix another. In this case, Jeff had noticed that the condensation pipe for our house was not working properly (and was strangely loose) and so we decided to get it fixed. We called a friend who does these types of things and he let us know he could fix it for a couple hundred dollars. Jeff and I talked about it and decided that we would give it a go. We probably did not use the best tools for the job which made for a lot of dusty clean-up, but we were able to get it fixed.

What had happened was the bottom of the pipe was broken. Jeff had noticed shortly after we moved in that when the AC ran, instead of water dripping out the pipe, the foundation would just get wet below the pipe. When we opened it up, other than a bit of elbow grease everything was fairly simple. We spent a sum total of $12 and will need to spend about another $10 to finish fixing the wall. So for a grand total of less than $25 dollars we were able to fix this problem! Wahoo! I love that my husband is so willing to work together to fix things in our home. We are both getting more proficient in fixing things and we are saving a whole pile of money too! This is really good because we need that to fix up other things in our house like ceiling fans, broken garage door openers, etc.
